Palladiums are… back?
June 7th 2010, Posted By susanne In Waiting ListLast week, I was discussing early nineties’ fashion choices with one of my school friends. (I say ‘choices’ but of course I mean ‘stuff that everyone else at school wore and which you then wore, too’.) We fondly remembered our extensive Palladium collections and wondered if they’d be making a comeback soon, what with all these nineties fashion item comebacks currently doing the rounds.
And lo and behold, this morning I click on Fashionista.com only to find this story about the shoes my father used to refer to as “those ghastly duck feet”. At my Sloane-tastic school, we worked the, um, Prunge look (preppy meets grunge – and yes, there’s a reason Grazia keep turning down my job applications. I can’t coin a fashion phrase to save my life) which consisted of the Pampa High Canvas or the Oxford Canvas worn with (pristinely ironed) oversized boy’s plaid shirts and (nice beige) leggings.
Anyways, two’s a coincidence, three’s a trend, so let’s wait this one out and see if anyone we know actually starts wearing them.
