NO, dearest butterscotches, we are not boarding an aeroplane to the Maldives – not yet at least – we just want to alert you all to the sad fact that the fan-super-tastic exhibition 10 Years of DANSK – a decade of Danish fashion, is approaching its end.
Happy 15 Madame Colette
March 19th 2012, Posted By rozanna In DANSKWORLD
We at DANSK are not the only ones who celebrate an anniversary this year! The amazing boutique Colette in Paris is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary. To celebrate this, besides from throwing a big birthday bash in the Tuileries later this year, Sarah Andelman, the woman behind Collette, turned to Craig Redman, creator of the popular blog Darcel Disappoints with whom Collette has collaborated with many times before. This time they have illustrated 150 of Colette’s supporters, celebrities and fans throughout the years. The list of people who have been illustrated shows iconic personalities from media, fashion, photography and arts.
The exhibition 150/15, which you can experience in the Collette store, is set to run until March 31.
A big happy birthday, from the DANSK team.

March 12th 2012, Posted By rozanna In DANSKWORLDFashions current obsession with sport style lead brilliantly by designers such as New York based Alexander Wang comes as no surprise in a year where London is hosting the Olympics and the European Football Championships are taking place in Poland and Ukraine. The top fashion brands have fueled the interest for sports style from the Worlds hottest glossy mags that are currently boiling over with sporty editorials. And the highstreet brands – no surprise – have ensured, that the trend is sure to hit streetlevel during Spring and Summer…

March 9th 2012, Posted By kim In Standing TicketI love Paris in the spring… However, during Paris Fashion Week it was not spring, it was 6 degrees! And as I had no socks in my new braided leather shoes with cork soles from Burberry.
Even though I had some wonderful Parisian experiences. The new hotel in Marais, Hotel Jules & Jim where I stayed is super cool and petit. Even though my Lanvin invitation got lost yet found again (horror), this is my new favorite place to stay in Paris.
Last but not least I had lots of coffee( white wine) and people watching at the Hotel Costes, Marley and Café Ruc – all owned by the clan (…) and a superb exhibition at Les Arts Decoratifs with Jean Paul Goude.

March 8th 2012, Posted By admin In Fashion TheoryOh, hi, Aymeline, looking gorgeous in Lanvin ruffles! The Lanvin show – marking Alber Elbaz’ triumphant ten year anniversary at the house – was nothing short of epic. From the moment we arrived on a runway filled with cake and champagne until Alber took his bow singing Que Sera, Sera to a teary-eyed crowd of fashion press and buyers, this was one of those shows you’d be kicking yourself for missing. Happy birthday, Alber! Here’s to many happy returns!

March 8th 2012, Posted By admin In Fashion TheoryNothing like starting the day off with a spot of Roland Mouret at the Westin. Such a beauteous collection: pale egg blue dresses (Roland called it a Dior blue – cue the next stage of the CD rumour mill) that offered some major backside action, a very pretty deer print and a flurry of feathered fox furs. Dix points, Roland.

March 8th 2012, Posted By admin In Fashion TheoryThere was definitely something film noir-y going on at AF Vandevorst. A David Lynch-esque curtain opened to reveal a model in a belted Mac, hidden from view under a fur scarf and Stephen Jones hat, bathed in a crisp spotlight. We never saw a single face – every look was almost mummified, ensuring focus was on the trailing gowns and almost fetishised jackets.
