Top 3 Justification of Fashion Blogs
November 30th 2009, Posted By anders In Fashion TheoryThree reasons that fashion needs blogs (and to celebrate that Mr. and Mrs. Boss finally got broadband):
1. Improving Designers’ Google Searches: much like real celebrities, designers have been known to take pleasure in Googling themselves. Half the reason that TheFashionSpot.com even exists is to boost egos. (Writers Google themselves, too. We just don’t get any results.)
2. Humanising Fashion: not that we’re trying to do this. But we have to admit it: blogs are kind. Blogs don’t expect anything from you. Blogs don’t patronise you with their glossy pages and their skinny models and their fancy word whoopla. They bring sound to silence – and to those without jobs. Kind of like daytime TV.
3. Instant Fashion Reportage: yeah, we don’t do this that much either (it seems like a lot of work). But we hear that some people believe you actually need more than WWD to keep up with the fast-paced, ever-changing world that is fashion. For instance, today a blog informed us that we had just launched a blog. So we dig it.
Welcome to the DANSK blog, y’all!

This is amazing I love it and am posting to twitter right now. I love reading blogs all sorts. But do fear losing actual print publications. And do worry about more press coverage on fame whores that interrupt fashion.
