Madonna for Miu Miu

Imagine being Guy Ritchie, spending your whole life building a career as a director – the slow recognition, the final breakthrough, the post-breakthrough expectations – and seeing your ex-wife do it all in three months. Ouch. Madonna stopped by a shoot to pick up Mert and Marcus for lunch (who knew Madonna was the kind of person who ‘drops by’? It really adds to her warm and down-to-Earth image) and ended up directing the Miu Miu a/w 2010 campaign video.

It’s kind of amazing, actually. Madonna’s managed to get all her signature dance moves in there (except for the crotchy ones, shame) aaaand that stuck-in-motion effect she so loves. Anyway, back to Guy: so yeah, Guy’s doing commercials for major houses and now his wife is, too. And she’s also directing a feature film on Wallis, Duchess of Windsor, which is just about to wrap. And she also shot Taylor Momsen for the Material Girl campaign for Macy’s. And she’s also dating a 23-year-old.
