DANSK Wishes: Hannah Martin
December 14th 2011, Posted By admin In Waiting List
Do you realise how emotionally self-destructive it is to ask for a Hannah Martin ring every Christmas and never get one? Like, I will spot those small boxes under the Christmas tree well early in the evening and get myself all excited all through the night at the thought. The disappointment every year is heart-wrenching. In fact, I don’t understand how my loved ones can love me so little. So this year I’ll say it again and I’ll put it in terms to which we can all relate (i.e. Mariah): all I want for Christmas is a Hannah Martin ring. Mkay? (And those Pennangalan boots, the Dries Van Noten blazer, the Acne bag and The Borgias on DVD. But still.)

December 13th 2011, Posted By admin In Waiting ListJunior Madsen and I were just debating what colour this beauteous Lanvin dress is. We went through golden curry (sometimes I seriously wonder how we ever graduated from fashion school) and American school bus yellow (if the bus was really expensive and glossy) and landed on golden mustard. (Where is Suzy Menkes when one needs help with one’s colour homework?) Anyways, this dress is beyond gorge and did I mention you can buy it online in Lanvin’s e-shop?

A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of spending a day with the dashing Luke Pasqualino from The Borgias. He was wearing all Dries Van Noten AW11 and looked the perfect Italian mafioso. Well, the young, slim version at least.
But Luke isn’t the only reason I want The Borgias on DVD for Christmas. (Jeremy Irons would be 90% of the reason, but I really want to interview him in the future so I should probably refrain from publishing any more creepy declarations of love to him online than already exist with my name on them.)
The Borgias is everything you could ever want in a TV show and more. Like, every episode is like a blockbuster movie for starters, and it’s all renaissance-y and Italian and amazing. Can’t wait to re-watch it.

While I dream of the day that Jonny Johansson is going to come and whisk me away to his world of all-things Acne where we’ll live in extremely clean-cut, pristinely dressed happiness forever after, I dream of getting this little number from his Swedish vaults of amazingness for Christmas.

December 12th 2011, Posted By admin In Waiting ListYou know those family Christmas cards you sometimes see where the whole family is looking really jolly and Mid-Western, except for the sulky goth child in the corner who’s in all black? Welcome to my Christmas! That being said, I am a major Christmas nazi and a bit of a fashion goth, so I leave the holiday sulking to the pioneers.
I do, however, really want these combat hiking boots (because you never know if war is going to strike while you’re out hiking) from my favourite purveyor of goth gear, Pennangalan. Admittedly the top part is a bit on the Camden side, but I’m thinking those flaps can easily be modified. They don’t call me Edward Scissorhands for nothing. (Yes I’ve been called that, shut up.) And they’re very Lanvin AW12, too.

December 12th 2011, Posted By admin In Waiting ListSometimes, I wonder if I am in fact related to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, because we totes all love the same kinds of fur. The Olsens and I look nothing alike, but I’d like to think we’re at least kindred spirits. (This is the point where I should also mention that my mother’s surname is Olsen. Dum-dum-dum-dum!) I don’t really discriminate against any kind of fur (as long as it’s not from China – be gone, Satan), but fur-wise, I have to say it doesn’t get much better than this a/w 11 crystal fox from The Row.

As far as statement jewellery goes, it doesn’t get much better than this masterpiece by Charlotte Lynggaard. An 18 carat floral piece in red and white gold: what more could you possibly want for Christmas? Well, we wouldn’t say no to a pair of matching earrings.

So, I’ve thought about this for a really long time and really done some soul-searching and stuff, and I’ve come to the conclusion that no, there isn’t anything better than Dries Van Noten on this planet. Ask me who I’d want to be if I weren’t me. I’d say Dries. Ask me what five things I’d take to a deserted island. I’d say Dries. Ask me whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. I’d say Dries.
So of course I’m asking for some Dries for Christmas and if I don’t get it, mark my words y’all, I will make a scene. Like throw a full-on holiday tantrum. Most of all I want this blazer with the white double-lapel, but I’m not picky. I’ll take anything. I’ll take a pair of Dries socks. In fact, you can probably shut me up with a Dries carrier bag. As long as it’s Dries. Thanks. Merry Christmas.

October 24th 2011, Posted By admin In Waiting ListSo, how ah-mah-zing are these headphones from Swedish Molami? Yup, ridic amazing. Everyone needs a pair of Napa leather and 18k gold accent headphones in their life. And as someone who’s pretty much surgically attached to her iPod (moody-teenager-wearing-a-hoodie style), the black stingray ones have my name all over them. Launching next month.
