DANSK’s 10 Year Birthday Bash
February 5th 2012, Posted By jens In DANSKWORLDOn Friday DANSK closed Copenhagen Fashion Week and celebrated our 10-year anniversary in collaboration with MINI and the brand new MINI Roadster. At an old girls school from the 18th century located in the heart of Copenhagen we invited our 250 closest fashion friends for Campari and Hendrick’s cocktails and fashionable Copen*hagen beer. January 31st 2012, Posted By anders In DANSKWORLDSo, as you may have noticed we’re sorta celebrating our ten-year anniversary this season. We should really be getting ourselves presents but we’re such givers, we can’t help but dish out the goods. So without further ado, here are the contents of the spring/summer 2012 issue, on stands Thursday 2nd February.
Celebrating his own decennial in 2012, Alber Elbaz speaks to Fashion Features Director Susanne Madsen about his ten years at Lanvin, while Kris Van Assche speaks to Senior Editor Anders Christian Madsen about creating his own success story at Dior Homme, Erdem Moralioglu talks Hitchcockian fashion, and Victoria Beckham reflects on her break-through as a designer. Ann-Sofie Back paints a picture of her new fashion empire, and catwalk photographer par excellence Chris Moore looks back at his extraordinary life in the industry.

1 COMMENTAnika Lori amazingness
January 13th 2012, Posted By jens In DANSKWORLDRight now, the DANSK office walls are covered in Anika Lori. A former assistant of the artist Tal R, Lori’s work is colourful yet dark, with a fondness for faces. She works in collages and paintings and has put her name to CD covers, installations and site specific works, such as a DJ booth and a pissoir. (Yes, really.) Lori’s most recent enterprise is Semi Femi, her newly launched blog done in collaboration with Danish model Emma Leth.

At DANSK, we’re firm believers in a classic men’s statement watch. And nothing gets our hearts racing like a TAG Heuer – their tag line (yup, bad pun totally intended) should say something along the lines of ‘Amazing since 1860′. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a small square box under the Christmas tree…

December 11th 2011, Posted By martin In DANSKWORLDChristmas party footwear: not your regular type of footwear. You want something awesome enough to turn a few heads, but something that’s still wearable enough that you can crawl your way into a cab in it at 5 in the morning… not that these kind of extravagances apply to the magazine publishing industry, who get to deadline our way through December, but we’re not bitter at all. Anyway, this ECCO number in luxury full-grain leather and brushable nubuck gets our stamp of approval. One for the Christmas list!

Yesterday, we opened the doors to DANSK and GrenaaBuchard HQ for our annual Christmas event – aka the annual excuse to eat ridiculous amounts of sugar. Cue the Summerbird flødeboller (the Danish version of oversized teacakes only, like, way better) and chocolate-coated almonds. Our guests also enjoyed a very boozy White Glögg (that’s Nordic speak for mulled wine) courtesy of the lovely Lærke – our in-house Nigella. By 7pm, the Glögg was gone and the Möet came out, and a very jolly time was had by all.
And because sharing is caring, Lærke has agreed to disclose her secret Glögg recipe – which, she says, is not an exact science. So go ahead and go crazy with those raisins, kids.

COS A/W11
Ok, I got the coat already…and everywhere I go people stop me and comment on it! What a smash hit!…that never happened to me last year when I wore that very expensive showpiece from Dolce… Now I just need that orange wool sweater to go underneath and I will finally be a real COS person – looking interesting and intellectual in that Nordic clean kinda way. I’m gonna force my sister to go and get me that one!
