Oh Caroline

There’s always a certain sense of patriotism in the air when we attend Fashion Month. But during the last couple of seasons it’s only really been our darling Freja who’s given us an opportunity to wave the Danish flag by the runway. (Denmark couldn’t even manage a medal in curling at the recent Winter Olympics – dire times indeed.)

But when Elite Copenhagen’s Caroline Brasch Nielsen suddenly materialized at Balenciaga, all that changed. And from there, Caroline trotted out at Chanel, YSL, Celine, Louis Vuitton and many, many more. (Attentive readers may also have spotted her in the main pic for our Dries Van Noten backstage post.)

We’ve got to hand it to Munir, Elite Copenhagen’s new boss: he’s had a rather spectacular start to his new post. It was of course none other than Munir who discovered Caroline last year when she was having lunch at a restaurant in Copenhagen. He immediately snapped her up for a test shoot and the rest, as they say, is history.

Apart from Paris, Caroline already has two seasons at Copenhagen Fashion Week under her chic belt. And we can’t wait to have her in the next issue of DANSK. Congratulations!

Oh, Nancy Williams… don’t know if it’s the above K-Stew styling or the Courtney Love circa 1994 expression on her face, but she has the DANSK office going all sorts of crazy. You know we’ve got a thing for the badass girls of this world. And since it’s officially Brigitte Nielsen Week on the DANSK blog, no model could be more appropriate for the weekly model profile than this 15-year-old.

Then, of course, there’s the hair… THE HAIR! Apparently, when they discovered Nancy over at FM, she was a blonde but after going pink for a Ben Weller shoot, Miss Williams decided to stick to red. That came in handy for a certain rather iconically styled picture in the latest DANSK. So for more Nancy, check out our spring/summer 2010 issue, on stands this week.

The power of Pawel

Don’t knock the cheesy headline! It works, okay?

So… usually an email with the name ‘Pawel’ in the subject line signifies gay porn spam (Google it…) – which of course isn’t necessarily a bad thing – but this morning, my inbox was hit with a much better ‘Pawel’ type of email: I was fortunate enough to start my day scrolling through numerous pictures of a certain Mr. Badnarek – Pawel Badnarek – who’s of course the new crown prince at FM and star of the spring/summer 2010 Topman campaign. And now I’m like damn it, why did we just do an entire issue without Pawel in it?! So annoying. Might do it all over again.

This boy’s going to be HUGE.
