Girls and boys, you may want to ask for a day off on November 23rd.

Pencil in October 18th – the release date for Colin McDowell’s monograph on Matthew Williamson. Apart from Mr McDowell’s musings on Matthew’s universe the tome also features contributions by Alexandra Shulman, Anna Wintour, Zandra Rhodes, Mrs B and Sir Paul Smith.

Sorry for the picspam, y’all (yes, we not only speak teen, we also speak message board) but we couldn’t just put the pictures from our Copenhagen Fashion Week party as thumbnails, now could we? Our little shindig took place at Custom House in collaboration with Eve and Magasin, and the occasion was of course the launch of our humble A/W 10 issue.
We all got a little too busy drinking the new sparkly peach and passion fruit Eve drinks, which had their world launch at our partay, and forgot to get our CrackBerrys out to take some snaps, but thankfully our more professional colleagues at DANSK Daily remembered to document the evening. If you wonder why Simon only managed to pap Mr Boss and Martin from DANSK HQ it’s probably because the rest of us were, um, a little too jolly to be captured on film.
Anyways, from the top:
1. Our very own Uffe Buchard forced this unsuspecting young man to swap clothes with him when he found out a photographer was lurking nearby.
2. Right before this picture was taken, Børsen’s fashion editor, Lotte Freddie, had told Cath Alexandrine Danneskiold-Samsøe and Alpha Diallo Cruise (yes, we also think they bought their names) that she wasn’t wearing any underwear.
3. Just back from their honeymoon: Mr and Mrs Townsend.
4. The Alexander Skarsgård of the office, Mr Martin Toxværd, with Carlos Pastor.
5. Make-up artist Niccy Welsh with ELLE’s editor-in-chief, Cecilie Christiansen, and hair stylist Neil Moodie. Just a wild guess, but they may have been discussing beauty tips.

I skived off last Friday to attend Valerie Steele’s talk on fashion in the museum at Copenhagen’s Museum of Art and Design. Dr. Steele’s lecture gave an excellent overview of the history of the fashion exhibition and, of course, the sometimes slightly problematic discourse surrounding fashion’s place in the dusty museum halls.
It was a full house: Peter Jensen was there, as was Jens Laugesen and Danish Fashion Institute’s Eva Kruse.
More of this, please. One of the highlights of Copenhagen Fashion Week, I think.
You can read my interview with Valerie Steele in the Thursday edition of DANSK Daily HERE.

(Insert any joke about a big, juicy sausage here.)
Our very own Fashion Editor-at-Large, Anders Sølvsten Thomsen, is in Copenhagen this week to drink Cocio and attend shows, and I did a little interview with him for Friday’s edition of DANSK Daily, which you can read HERE.
It involves slippers and Anna Wintour (in the same sentence) and, um, a gassy model. (Did I really just write that on our ever-so-chic fashion blog? Yes, I think I did.)

I’m looking for a good time!
Tonight’s male harem, from left to right: Rune, Anders, Chris, Michael (you may know him as Don Draper from previous blog posts), Magnus, Mikkel (seated), and Jens. There are actually more boys, but some of them were out at the shows when I took this darling little picture.

You can’t tell from the picture, but all the camping-friendly clothes and backpacks at Wood Wood were drenched in water. Kinda like us, since there are apparently no taxis in Copenhagen whatsoever and although the fashion bus is very nice (they serve food on there AND surprise you with presents – London, take note) it wasn’t an option today when our schedule took us off the on-schedule road… More on that to come.

“That whole desert-trooper look is sort of big in Copenhagen, no?” said Jens Laugesen as we left the City Hall, where young master Jean-Phillip had just shown his third collection. Jens wasn’t just referring to the draped, washed-out fabrics we’d just witnessed on the runway, but also to the hordes of bedouin-looking boys who were hanging out outside the building.
As per usual, my incredible photography skills made sure I didn’t capture any of the key draped pieces, so you’ll just have to check those out in DANSK Daily instead.
