Anika Lori amazingness
January 13th 2012, Posted By jens In DANSKWORLDRight now, the DANSK office walls are covered in Anika Lori. A former assistant of the artist Tal R, Lori’s work is colourful yet dark, with a fondness for faces. She works in collages and paintings and has put her name to CD covers, installations and site specific works, such as a DJ booth and a pissoir. (Yes, really.) Lori’s most recent enterprise is Semi Femi, her newly launched blog done in collaboration with Danish model Emma Leth.

1 COMMENTFriday at Louisiana: Toulouse Low Trax
January 10th 2012, Posted By jens In GoseeThe amazing Louisiana Museum of Modern Art north of Copenhagen has invited Special guest – Toulouse Low Trax aka Detlef Weinreich to their Friday Lounge this coming Friday.
Detlef Weinreich actually holds an education as sculptor from the Art Academy of DĂĽsseldorf, but it is as DJ and co-founder of the electronica band Kreidler, Detlef Weinreich has made an international carrier. As the first international name ever to play at Louisiana’s Friday Lounge, Detlef Weinreich will play tracks from his solo project Toulouse Low Trax, which he describes as a tone-cocktail of ”Library, Soundtracks, Ethnic & Emotional”.
Friday, January 13th at 6:30 PM. The Friday Lounge is free of charge for museum visitors.

January 5th 2012, Posted By jens In GoseeOne of our favourite museums in Daneland, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, is kicking off 2012 with an exhibition on German photography maestro Andreas Gursky. Opening on January 13th, the exhibit will feature forty of Gursky’s larger-than-life, digitally manipulated images, often built from hundreds of pictures and blown up to gigantic proportions.

December 29th 2011, Posted By jens In Waiting ListChristmas may be over, but when has that ever stopped anyone from wanting things? These Nappa leather and neoprene desert boots from Y-3 would do rather nicely as a little New Year’s present, no?

1 COMMENTBlack Christmas
December 28th 2011, Posted By jens In GoseeIn Denmark, there’s a saying that Christmas lasts until Easter, so a little bit of belated Christmas self-gifting is surely in order, right? First stop: Maria Black. The London-based, Danish-born jeweller has just launched her new website and online shop, and we’re major fans of her sleek and dangerous pieces. Credit cards at the ready, y’all.

December 28th 2011, Posted By jens In Waiting ListOnce upon a time, someone decided that New Year’s should be a time of sequins. Mind you, Krystle Carrington would probably disagree (politely, in a hushed voice) that sequins are an everyday wardrobe necessity. We just want to take this as an opportunity to quote James St James in Party Monster, really: “If you have a hunchback, just throw a little glitter on it!”

Once you pop you can’t stop
December 25th 2011, Posted By jens In Waiting ListWe L-O-V-E everything about New Year’s: glitter and glamour, dressing up, dancing and CHAMPAGNE! (Yes, our New Year’s is pretty much a Cher concert.) We’ve decided we’re only drinking bubbly on the last evening of the year, and to help us select the perfect champagne menu we’ve teamed up with Kjær & Sommerfeldt – an atmospheric store and wine bar at Gammel Mønt 4, Copenhagen. In business since 1875, it’s quite the experience: wooden panels, high ceilings and a amazing collection of wine, spirits and champagne.
Admittedly, all this binging on champagne can get a bit price, and we do need to save ourselves – and our wallets – for the January sales, so why not go ahead and save DKK 400 by buying the whole menu by clicking here. And click each picture to buy the featured champagne.

The cult of Karl
December 22nd 2011, Posted By jens In Waiting List
Since Junior Madsen recently cut off his ponytail and swapped his hair powder for a tin of Brylcreem, we’re now paying tribute to Karl Lagerfeld the old-fashioned way: via his clothes. (FYI: Anders is also no longer available for Karl Lagerfeld tribute band appearances.)
And what better way to get a bit of Karl in our lives than with his upcoming Karl line, launching on Net-a-Porter in January 2012. Net-a-Porter are currently running a ‘Where’s Karl?’ campaign – join ‘Karl’s Kult’ to get exclusive Karl updates, Karl games and Karl competitions while you wait. So far, four Karl looks have been revealed – check them out below.
